Ireland's most north western county, Donegal shares a long land border
with Northern Ireland and connects to the rest of the Republic of
Ireland by a small 12 mile corridor of land. Once the home of the
O'Donnell clan that had a striking point in the history of Ireland.
Donegal or DhĂșn na nGall (Fort of the Foreigner in Gaelic) is a rugged
mix of windswept mountains, high bogland & spectacular coastline. In
the South West of the County one can explore Europe's highest sea
cliffs at Slieve League. There are hundreds of miles of white sand
beaches, great surfing and the county is a hill walker's paradise. It is also known for its seafood and you have to try the local cuisine if you go to Donegal.
